About Joe & Martina:
Johnny and June. George and Tammy. Waylon and Jessi. Garth and Trisha. Like the Country music royalty before them, Joe & Martina possess a mutual respect for their craft and the love held for each other is evident whether on or off the stage. Their music unfolds as communicative storytelling through complementary harmonies; It’s a sonic love story unveiled with Bakersfield edge, a touch of modern influence, and the elusive guitar solo. As independent artists, Joe & Martina continuously flex their creative muscles while remaining faithful to their roots and releasing undeniably “Country” material. Songs such as “Hometown Summer Nights,” “Middle of Nowhere, USA,” and “I’ve Been Around” have garnered the married duo numerous accolades including a spotlight by Billboard as an ”Artist to Watch”, an official stage performance at CMA Fest, and allowed the couple to grace the cover of Horse & Agriculture Magazine. Despite a global pandemic resulting in the near halt of the entertainment industry, 2020 earmarked Joe & Martina’s biggest year yet. They appropriately changed their artist name from “Terra Bella” to “Joe & Martina,” authentically marketing themselves just as they are—Country music’s next legendary powerhouse couple—and released Top 30 hit “Give Me Back the 90’s” featuring their GRAMMY-winning idol, John Berry. The single peaked at No. 28 on Music Row’s Country Breakout Chart and the duo was the only unsigned act in the Top 30 for a number of weeks as their colorful, nostalgia-filled music video premiered via Billboard.com—another major milestone for a complete DIY act. Joe, who was the original bass player for the now multi-platinum artist Luke Combs, quickly elevated his lyrical credibility as a songwriter having co-written “Don’t Tempt Me” off of Comb’s This One’s For You and has since been recognized as a producer for not only Joe & Martina material, but rising singer-songwriters such as Allie Colleen, Dustin Huff, and social media sensation Taylor Ray Holbrook. To boot, Martina’s emotionally-charged vocal delivery and exuberant stage presence continues to captivate audiences across the country. Together for over a decade, Joe & Martina secure their position on show-bills alongside Jake Owen, Blake Shelton, Jon Pardi, Lee Brice, Montgomery Gentry, and more. As Terra Bella, Joe and Martina were introduced to esteemed producer/guitarist, Johnny Garcia, who began to coach and produce their material in between tour legs with Garth Brooks. In 2016, the debut EP Road To Forever came to fruition and scored the duo’s first Billboard Indicator (#51) and Music Row (#42) charting song with the single “You’ve Got That Somethin’.” Originally from California’s Central Valley, Joe & Martina’s agricultural upbringing prepared them for the intense routine and dedication that’s necessary for establishing a career in the entertainment business. As individuals, Joe was active on his family farm harvesting crops and raising livestock, while Martina was a practicing equestrian and rodeo queen. The two were introduced through their musical passion and soon after, the evolution of their creative endeavors blossomed simultaneously with their love for each other. The couple married in January 2012 before moving 2,200 miles east to “Music City, USA” to further pursue their artistry.

UK Multi-instrumentalist Indie Rocker Jon Doe RELEASES ‘In My Dreams’

Enigmatic UK indie-rocker Jon Doe has released his latest single, ‘In My Dreams’ on the 25th of June via Odd Grove Records. For his previous release, the multi-instrumentalist crafted a 4 part story, in which he cleverly set the scene for his own universe of artistic vision. The first part of the story was revealed in his debut Summer Fling EP, which was released last year and the following expected releases will intertwine with this concept while delving into a more introspective direction.

Jon Doe was born and grew up in Hendon and he is currently based in Northampton, Northamptonshire after studying at the West Herts College in Watford. The self-taught multi-instrumentalist experiments with the guitar and the piano, as well as singing, writing and producing his own music, considering himself an explorer of an industry that none of his family has previously ventured into.

Drawing influences from numerous artists and genres, Jon Doe occasionally refers to the likes of The Weeknd, Tame Impala, The Neighbourhood, Dominic Fike and Tyler, The Creator as he creates his music. In turn, the alternative indie rock stylings call to mind the well-known likes of The Kooks, Tame Impala and MGMT.

Light summer energy merged with the surreal mindset of dreams create the upbeat tones for ‘In My Dreams’. Elements of romanticism, eccentricity and a little bit of humour come together to create Jon Doe’s latest single, drawing listeners into a fantasy of both uncertainty and hope. Lighthearted daydreaming always sounds better when you throw a little indie rock into the mix.

Speaking of the single, Jon Doe tells us: “I wrote the song on an impulse based on a dream I had woken up from moments ago. I had retained information of the key parts of that dream and that’s exactly what you hear in the song. I don’t know who the girl is/was but it felt like I had already known her for a while and once I woke up it was a bit disorienting. She was perfect in every way but she wasn’t real.”

Siobamm – Bones

Siobamm - Bones (Official Video)

Roller derby enthusiast turned production badass of rock and roll, Siobamm trades in her roller skates for electric guitars and microphones on her new single, “Bones” — available now!

The indie songstress is no stranger to the recording studio, having been introduced to the music community through her family’s band Madd Paddy. As Siobamm remembers, she stepped into the recording booth at the age of ten, and thereafter spent her formative years in Irish bars watching her talented kin perform.

Now, she’s utilized her know-how and the creative genes passed down to her to create, design and devise a home studio she can call her own. From derby girl to songwriter, and producer, Siobamm can safely say she inherited the family business.

When the pandemic caused a global shutdown, it became obvious to Siobamm that a return to roller derby was unlikely in any near future. Inspired by the space and time she was afforded under lockdown, she took to learning music production, honed in on her previous experience performing in bands and went back to her song writing roots. “I’m proud of myself and what I created in a year,” she says. “I’m excited to keep learning and growing in all aspects of music.”

On her debut EP, Gloom Patrol (May 2021), Siobamm’s efforts as both the writer and the producer provide a complete insight to her as an artist, and what she was willing to put forward for her debut record.

Dreamy, fuzzy, lo-fi guitar. Alternative, grungy, melodic harmonies. Clever lyrics. Smart visuals. Siobamm has carefully curated the album from the opening riff to the presentation in video. Fiona Apple spooning with Mazzy Starr, singing an Elle King lullaby. A 90s soundscape with a modern, cutting edge.

“There are not a lot of women in music production,” Siobamm says, emphasizing: “I want to show girls that learning the technical stuff isn’t hard, and is really interesting and fun.”

With quarantine in mind, Gloom Patrol’s four-track-strong song list is a gothic anthem for the misfits dealing with the misfortunes of a world lost, and tucked away. Each track reminds the listener there is someone else on the other side of this tin can — just like you. Like me. Like Siobamm, who eagerly understands the peril of human existence in a time where everyone was locked down and forced to keep themselves company.

It’s a love letter to all of us, penned by a gal who took the time she was given to write something we could all relate to; chopped up into blended pieces that make the package perfect for the pallet.

It’ll have you asking for seconds. And let’s hope this jammer has plenty more in the pack.

Gloom Patrol and “Bones” are available now.

Rachel Grae - Lived It Twice

Today, Rachel Grae (18) released her newest single “Lived It Twice”, which started as a TikTok experiment gone viral! The song was born from a simple quote that Rachel transformed into an anthem for battling overthinking.

“It was inspired by advice that my manager gave me when I was incredibly anxious about something that hadn’t even happened yet. Quoting Michael J. Fox from years earlier, my manager said ‘If you worry about something and then it happens, you’ll have lived it twice.’ After hearing that, my whole mindset changed! It was the first thing I’d heard that actually stopped me from overthinking a situation before it happened. I decided to write this song because I felt a lot of people had to hear this message as well.”

“Lived It Twice” follows Grae’s debut single “Bad Timing”, for which she graced the largest billboard in Times’ Square in partnership with both Spotify and Little Kids Rock and garnered substantial attention from an ever-growing Gen Z fanbase that has come to love for her relatability and her dynamic voice.  Produced and co-written by Adam Yaron (Pretty Little Liars, PlayStation, and NBA), the song is a second journal entry that explores themes of rejection and heartbreak.

Growing from a viral TikTok embraced by her suddenly substantial follower base (whom she enchanted in mere months since launching her career), Rachel’s newest single also graces the same Times Square billboard — this time alongside Unis Footwear and renowned Chef and Restaurateur David Burke.

Premiering on YouTube alongside the single’s release, the “Lived It Twice” music video portrays a clever narrative of Rachel facing parallel versions of herself living out the daily anxious thoughts in her head. Inspired by the song’s poignant lyrics, Rachel delivers powerhouse vocals that can empower any chronic overthinker in “Lived It Twice”.

About Rachel Grae:
Growing up in the outskirts of New York City, Rachel Grae dissected music like an archeologist — turning over melodies to figure out what elevated a catchy song to an unforgettable one, and studying the characteristics of lyrics that unraveled like poetry. When she started writing her own music she set her intention with clarity. Brimming with wide-eyed, post-adolescent curiosity and filtered through a keen sense of maturity, Grae embraces imperfection as a means to investigate vulnerability in all its forms.

Wielding an unmistakably dynamic voice that’s warm and enveloping, her range is reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson or Demi Lovato. Paired with an ear for bouncy pop that’s rich with inviting earworms, she writes songs that are built for all emotional seasons. It’s this innate ability to connect with an audience that’s built a substantial and rapidly growing TikTok following of devoted fans who have turned her platform into a form of group therapy.

Uniquely, when Rachel Grae yearns to learn more about the world around her, she looks inwardly —  reflecting on her past missteps and epiphanies to inform her next move. Her goal is clear: constructing songs that confront universal emotions as a compassionate act; making music that works on herself means that listeners start halfway to the finish line.

GRATEFUL WEB PREMIERES MATT JAFFE’S NEW SINGLE “SHAPE OF FEAR”.

Bay Area artist Matt Jaffe is excited to announce the release of his new single “Shape of Fear,” off his newest full-length album Kintsugi; set to release August 27th. Thanks to Grateful Web for doing a premiere, you can get a sneak peek at the single by clicking here. It will also be available through all other digital music retailers and streaming services starting tomorrow.

Jaffe explained to Grateful Web the meaning behind his latest single, “Shape of Fear”, in which we can all relate to in one way or another. “Without me realizing it, fear has become a theme in my songs. Specifically fear of something unknown. I developed epilepsy in 2015, and the risk of seizures has developed into a shadowy menace, striking without warning or pattern. They are constantly looming but rarely visible. A phantom threat.”

“Shape of Fear” is preceded by three previous songs from Kintsugi, “Voodoo Doll”, “Weekend Lover”, and “Cut Me Down The Middle”. “Voodoo Doll” came with an animated video created by Academy Award-nominated American cartoonist Bill Plympton – watch here.

American Songwriter and Jaffe discuss the meaning of his single “Cut Me Down The Middle”, his time spent working with Talking Heads’ Jerry Harrison, the meaning behind his fifth studio album (a tragic injury he endured), and working alongside Chuck Prophet on his experimental theatre production. He also discussed the meaning behind, “Enough Bad Luck” with Glide Magazine last month. WIth 185K Views, 109K Streams, and 25.9k followers, Matt is burning his way through the indie scene one brilliant song at a time.

After cutting his teeth on open mics around the Bay Area, San Francisco songwriter Matt Jaffe was discovered by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. Together, they produced his first album at the age of 16, cementing Matt’s dedication to music. Soon, he formed a band, dropped out of college, and has not looked back. Since then, Matt has written more songs than he can remember the words to, crisscrossed the country opening for Blues Traveler and Wilco, and co-written with Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s. Matt has served as musical director for experimental theater, collaborated with poets on genre-bending spoken word, and curated residencies among fellow songwriters. Additionally, Matt volunteers with Bread & Roses, a non-profit that brings live music to facilities without regular access to it, such as prisons, rehab centers, and foster homes. Having suffered from seizures since 2015, Matt also uses his music to unite local and national epilepsy communities.

The Pocket Gods

Tin Foil Hat Chameleon ( Best of The Pocket Gods Vol 2)

THE POCKET GODS

ANNOUNCE NEW BEST-OF ALBUM RELEASE:
‘TIN FOIL HAT CHAMELEON’

+ FEATURED SINGLE: “TELSTAR GURL”
OUT 25TH JUNE 2021

PLUS, LIVE SHOW @ 100 CLUB, LONDON – 29 JULY

Cult indie band THE POCKET GODS, who were discovered by the late John Peel and recently championed by the likes of Tom Robinson from BBC 6 Music, will release the second volume of their best-of in 2021: ‘Tin Foil Hat Chameleon’.

Covering 22 years of their genre hopping madness, veering from lo-fi indie to electro-funk and psychedelic pop; the record will feature fan favourites including “Perfect Blue”, “Superman’s Head”, plus forthcoming single “Telstar Gurl”.

Officially released on 25th June 2021 via Nub Music UK, the collection will also feature brand new tracks “The Ballad Of Dave Insepso” and “Kimmy Loadletter” which is inspired by rom-com My Best Friend’s Wedding and Mike Judge’s cult classic Office Space.

With a tracklist compiling 12 of their finest recordings plucked from nearly 70 albums worth of material, alongside the tell-tale instrumentation of Noel Storey and frontman Mark Christopher Lee, ‘Tin Foil Hat Chameleon’ Vol.2 also features long term drummer Scott Ottaway most famous for his work with 60’s legends The Searchers.

A band with no-less than 3 Guinness World Records to their name including “most tracks on a digital album” and most recently “the world’s longest song” (a track about about making first contact with extraterrestrials that is some 48 hours long), fans can expect more out-of-this world action on this latest collection too.

Featured song “If You See A UFO Who Ya Gonna Call? Nick Pope!” was written as a tribute to the world’s leading UFOlogist, who has also been described as the UK’s Fox Mulder as he used to run the MOD’s UFO desk. (Nick naturally loves the track and tweets it out to his followers worldwide!)

Elsewhere on a similar space-theme, “Telstar Gurl” offers up a chaotic mix of the Ramones and Fontaines DC; a track ultimately about the band’s favourite Belgium pub and almost signing to Telstar Records before Victoria Beckham made them bankrupt…

With a reputation for being one of the most prolific band’s in existence, to date The Pocket Gods have released 67 albums and 40 plus singles and EP since their inception. Formed by Noel Storey (keyboards & sideburns), and frontman Mark Christopher Lee, back in 1998, whilst working at Tower Records in Piccadilly Circus in London; they were originally an alt country band (and even had a pedal steel player) before they were misappropriated by bearded Hoxton hipsters into the eccentric wonders they are today.

Discovered by the legendary John Peel back in 2004 shortly before his death, the band’s cult appeal has infected countless quality broadcasters ever since. Picked up by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens when they won his “Gods Of The Pod” competition in 2006, Tom Robinson fell in love with their lo-fi indie tracks and he invited the band to play a live session at BBC 6 Music in 2010. The band also featured on his BBC Introducing Best Of Discoveries Show in 2017.

Sometimes described as a slightly more tuneful version of Mark E Smith from The Fall and a “Wilful Maverick” (according to Tom Robinson), the band’s latest collection finds frontman Mark Christopher Lee exercising both qualities in spades. Alongside his prolific musical activities, Lee has recently been raising awareness of mental health issues after experiencing a suicide attempt in January 2019. His experience was shown in the band’s own rockumentary – Weird The Life And Times Of A Pocket God – which was released on Amazon Prime and has been described as – “Spinal Tap meets One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.”

The perfect distillation of everything that makes The Pocket Gods who they are and a choice introduction to one of music’s most towering back catalogues, ‘Tin Foil Hat Vol.2’ will receive its official release on 25th June 2021.
