Jacob Navarro, aka, Lil Nove, has always had a strong interest in music. At 10 years old, he picked up his first guitar for Christmas. His older brother got him FL Studio later that year, and that’s when Nove got into producing. He would try to make all different types of beats ranging from EDM to Hip Hop instrumentals. After not using FL Studio for a couple of years, Nove came back to it after graduating high school. He would be up late making beats or trying new ideas. After seeing his favorite rap duo, Rae Sremmurd, in concert, he decided a day later he would record his first song “Life of the Party.” In the first week of dropping “Life of the Party” on Sound Cloud, he gained over 25,000 streams. Nove was in school at the time and knew this is what he really wanted to do. He dropped out of college to make more time for music and producing his own music. About a month after dropping out, Lil Nove announced that his first project, “Life of Lust,” an album with 11 tracks, that will be coming April 24, 2019. What inspires you to make music? The main two influences are Rae Sremmurd and Lil Skies. If you mixed their two styles together you’d basically get me. Tell us about this project? This was my first project so I just wanted to go out and have fun with it. It’s a mix of bars with punch lines and then later in the album it’s more of music you can vibe to. Sleepless was a last minute song. I decided to throw it on the album like a week before it came out. I knew that song was gonna be the most popular one. Who were your musical inspirations growing up? I have too many to list. The main one is definitely Rae Sremmurd though. After meeting them back at a concert in 2018 I knew I wanted to do the same shit they were. Just going on stage having a great time and letting the crowd sing the songs for you. Are You Working On Any New Projects? Always. I’m working on a 4-5 song EP right now. Probably gonna drop towards the middle or end of summer. How long have you been creating music? Creating…since I was 12 or 13. I was producing music on FL Studio. I wasn’t good at it at the time but it was a start. When I was 18 I started getting into writing, recording, mixing, mastering, all that good stuff. Do you want to say anything to the people who support your music? We’re gonna take over soon. I have the best fans on the planet. Without y’all it wouldn’t be possible. You guys motivate me the most to keep striving and reaching for the stars. Because of you guys it was possible for me to have my first performance and many more to come. Instagram: @lilnove_
