What inspires you to make music?
Music to me is a universal language that is relatable to almost anyone. The power that music holds is undeniable. No matter what language or genre , you can always feel the emotion, spirit and love that was put into a song or a body of work as a whole. The way that music is linked to so many memories , emotions and more is powerful and that what i want to resonate with my music. I tell a story with my music and you never know who is going through the same situations that you are. Music saves lives and thats what inspires & drives me to continue to make it.
Tell us about this project?
Well this song is titled You're Mine. It features another another CT rapper that goes by the name Dens. Those of you interested in his work his IG is densupthestreet. It is a love song about how finally getting the person you desired for so long makes you feel. All the butterflies , and cliches is all you feel when first falling in love. I wanted to audibly manifest these emotions into this song. I just wanted this to be a feel good, bop of a song that instantly puts a smile on your face and makes you move your feet.
Who were your musical inspirations growing up?
My musical inspirations growing up was Mariah Carey and Usher. Mariah is queen of billboard and that vocal range is undeniable. Usher's presence in R&B music is undeniable as well. He was the bad boy of R&B who sang of things usual men wouldn't. My voice I believe resonates both of these artists. Lyrically as well Wu-Tang Clan is an immense inspiration. 36 Chambers is my favorite hip-hop album.
Are You Working On Any New Projects?
Yes I am currently working on my first mixtape titled "On The Corner Of Giles & Rose" it is a concept mixtape about chasing your high school crush for 7 years, getting with them and loosing to end up learning a life lesson in the process. The purpose of my mixtape isn't to not only broadcast my songwriting skills and vocal talent but to also teach the lesson I was taught to someone else making the same mistake I did.
