What inspires you to make music?
Music to me is a universal language that is relatable to almost anyone. The power that music holds is undeniable. No matter what language or genre , you can always feel the emotion, spirit and love that was put into a song or a body of work as a whole. The way that music is linked to so many memories , emotions and more is powerful and that what i want to resonate with my music. I tell a story with my music and you never know who is going through the same situations that you are. Music saves lives and thats what inspires & drives me to continue to make it.

The name of this song is One More Try. It is about that point in the relationship when you realize that you are about to loose the one you love and you are literally begging for that one last chance. So in that moment you replay all the things you love about this person and admitting your wrongs. Shout out to Petey Griff who also blessed this track with his verse. You can find him on IG at sarcastic.gringo.

Who were your musical inspirations growing up?
My musical inspirations growing up was Mariah Carey and Usher. Mariah is queen of billboard and that vocal range is undeniable. Usher’s presence in R&B music is undeniable as well. He was the bad boy of R&B who sang of things usual men wouldn’t. My voice I believe resonates both of these artists. Lyrically as well Wu-Tang Clan is an immense inspiration. 36 Chambers is my favorite hip-hop album.

Are You Working On Any New Projects?
Yes I am currently working on my first mixtape titled “On The Corner Of Giles & Rose” it is a concept mixtape about chasing your high school crush for 7 years, getting with them and loosing to end up learning a life lesson in the process. The purpose of my mixtape isn’t to not only broadcast my songwriting skills and vocal talent but to also teach the lesson I was taught to someone else making the same mistake I did.

How long have you been creating music?
I want to say about 2 to 3 years now with progress finally happening now.

The “Work” never stops. Carolina born hip-hop artist, Drumma SC vividly integrates ancient African traditions with his southern roots in new music and video release entitled, “Work.” The single, follows his introductory creative visual, “Osun: Work Prelude,” an artistic interpretation of a tribute to the goddess, Osun, the Orisa of love, fertility and the river, represented in the Yoruba tradition of west Africa.

About Drumma SC: Drumma SC first gained notoriety in his musical base city, Charlotte, NC being known for his raw passion, perseverance, and magnetic lyrical ability. Born in the small town of Cheraw, SC, Drumma has experienced every facet of “country live’n,” from growing up in nature, around farm life and dirt roads to witnessing direct effects of economic hardship stemming from the vanishing of a once booming textile industry. Actively involved in bringing forth solutions to social issues involving community and human rights, Drumma integrates his passion for music and culture with his passion for creating positive change and development.

Fo Rilo just released a new album on iTunes titled Goliath. This hiphop album is fierce. The beats, production, and lyrics fit perfectly together. The Intro to this album sets the tone. The mix on the Intro is so hard you automatically know this album has to be fire. After the Intro I couldn’t wait to see what other gems may be laying around the album.

Track number 3, “First Da Money” is an instant hit. A club and stage banger that will have buildings rocking. When I first listened to this song I was sitting in my office like usually. After the beat drop and I heard the hook, I literally went to the car to see how it sounded in the system. This is the kind of song you can see the whole crowd singing along to the hook when it comes on. After listening to this song, I was really impressed with Fo Rilo and his production team.

Goliath is a well-put together album. It has a nice flow, and follows a smooth progression as it continues. Fo Rilo showcases his versatility, creativity, and lets the world know how high his ceiling could be.

Another song I really enjoyed was, “Shooter McGavin.” Fo Rilo showed me another side of him. His fast flow is flawless. The bars were impressive and he made it seem easy.

This is an album you hiphop heads need to take a listen to. Fo Rilo put together a quality album that left me looking forwarded to more.
